Individual mentoring isn’t for everyone
Individual mentoring isn’t for everyone. It is for highly motivated parents who want to work individually and privately to put the work in with expert assistance to get the bullies off the back of their child. But it’s important to be clear - the person who will be doing the work is you. I can’t reach in and be the parent. I can give you advice, and I can give you assistance, but the person implementing the changes, working with the school, and supporting your child back to flourishing well-being is you.
You will be taking the action. You will be leading the change. And you and your child will reap the benefits. I won’t be doing it for you. Think of me as the tour guide who helps you decide what you want to do by when, what sort of parent you want to be, and how specifically you want to respond to the challenges faced by your child, presented by the school your child attends.
If you enrol in individual mentoring and don’t put in the effort, you won’t change the results you’re getting with your child’s bullying at school. You will only change what is happening for your child if you apply what you learn and take advantage of every possibility that working with me offers you here.
What does mentoring include and what's the cost?
Mentoring is done over the phone or via Skype. It costs $10,000 for 10 sessions (including GST).
Before we start working together, I’ll ask you to answer a series of questions about your child and their school experience designed to help me understand where you are at – as well as identify potential opportunities and possibilities for quick wins. From there, we’ll establish a game plan and decide where we should place our initial focus. We’ll move fast – and will get a lot done together.
You and I will have a 60 minute one-on-one call every week. 48 hours prior to our call, you have the option to send me a one pager outlining your questions, challenges, and items you’d like us to cover together. You can also send along any responses from the school, and draft approaches you would like me to review.
Obviously individual mentoring isn’t for everyone. You’ll notice I don’t hide my price and make you call me on the phone to find out how much mentoring costs.
The fact is, mentoring is just a small part of our overall approach to supporting families stopping the bullying of their children – and we don’t really do it for the money.

The group implementation coaching program has unique benefits compared with individual mentoring – you are with other parents who face the same challenges and who are going through the same journey of change. Getting rid of the feelings of isolation and being part of a community is priceless.
About your mentor: Bryan O'Connor
I have a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a Master of Business Law from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in Business Coaching from the University of Wollongong.
My expertise is in helping individuals achieve their goals and in helping leaders create organisations that are both high performing and great places to work.
At a personal level, I have had two children who experienced severe bullying. I experienced the fires of trial and error about how to get schools to act, until in conjunction with Mary Duckett, I learnt the secret that enabled us to stop bullying in its tracks.
The coaching and mentoring model I use is one of solution-focused empowerment. I work with you to set specific goals, decide what actions you are going to take to protect your child, anticipate and overcome roadblocks that will get in your way, and help you remain true to your values as you keep your child safe. People who work with me describe me as both supportive and tough.
I know how good it feels to see your child smile again and move into flourishing growth. I am completely committed to helping other parents transform the lives of their children and their families by getting the bullies off their backs.
